A design I made for a silkscreen competition. I won second place.
The subject was “The Spring Is So Short Here”.
It is a title of a song, but it also drew me straight to the fact that Israel doesn’t really have – a spring. We have maybe 2 weeks of it, and straight to the summer.
The image I had in mind was a development town, with its 50’s public housing row-buildings, and the vast briars between them (they are green in the winter, and then dry as soon as the summer starts).
It also reminded me of war, though eventually I decided to avoid the war connection.
The work was featured in World Literature today .
